  6.   Mrs. J. W. Ross, 90, Dies on Thursday; Rites Tomorrow
           Mrs. J. W. Ross, 90, died Thursday morning at 10:30 o’clock at her residence, 1101 North Fifth Avenue, after a short illness.
           Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Trinity M. E. church. The Rev. A. E. Scott, former pastor, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. E. W. Jones, pastor. Interment will be in East View Memorial Cemetery.
           Mrs. Ross was born in Cedar Bluff, Alabama, on April 8, 1845, and was the former Miss Laura Hoss, daughter of Jacob and Sara Vance Hoss, of Alabama. The deceased was one of the oldest and most beloved citizens of Rome.
           A devout Christian, Mrs. Ross was a member of the Trinity M. E. church and was always active in church and Sunday School work. Her husband preceded her in death a number of years ago.
           Surviving Mrs. Ross are two daughters, Misses Jennie and Connie Ross, one son, Charles Ross; one sister, Miss Betty Hoss, all of Rome; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
