{geni:about_me} Lavon Virgilia Jansen LaVON VIRGILIA JANSEN, 83, of Kendallville, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville. Mrs. Jansen was born on Oct. 21, 1924, in Avilla, to William L. and Alice C. (Schmenk) Carteaux. She married Dr. Bernard W. Jansen in 1947, in Avilla; he preceded her in death in January, 1990. Survivors include seven sons, Thomas L. (Linda) Jansen of Kendallville, James S. (Pam) Jansen of Kendallville, Robert W. (Gwyn) Jansen of St. Johns, Mich., Gerard A. (Lori) Jansen of Kendallville, Michael P. (Brenda) Jansen of Kendallville, Jon J. (Noel) Jansen of Indianapolis and Douglas A. (Susan) Jansen of Kendallville; 15 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two brothers, Russell Carteaux of Avilla and Tom Carteaux of Auburn. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kendallville. Fr. Jacob Gall officiating. Visitation is from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hite Funeral Home, 403 South Main St., Kendallville, with Rosary recitation at 6:45 p.m. Sunday. Burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Avilla.
