'Knut [child of Jon Knutsson Kyrkjebø] d. e. [the elder] [married] Tore Jonsdotter (Utsund 6). Sk. [skifte: probate or transfer of estate to the next generation] Bakken u. Holtan 1751.'

The identification of the husband of Tore Jonsdatter with the son of Jon Knutsson Kyrkjebø is problematic (see notes on Knut's estimated birth year), but it is assumed that the "skifte" information refers to Knut, the husband of Tore Jonsdatter (and/or to Tore herself).

  3. Birth year estimated based on estimated birth year of his wife.

It seems unlikely (but not impossible) that he was the son of Jon Knutsson Kyrkebø, as indicated in Kviteseid Bygdesoge (1:314). Judging by the birth years of descendants, Jon Knutsson's children probably were born in the 1640s and 1650s, although they could have been born as late as 1650 to the mid 1670s. Kviteseid Bygdesoge calls him Knut Jonsson the elder, with a younger brother named Knut the younger, and implies that Kjetil and Steinar (2 other brothers) were also younger than him.
