Kenneth Ewert Pratt grew up in Medicine Hat, Alberta. His parents were Charles Pratt and Emma Bertha nee Rorke. Charles emigrated to Canada as a boy with his birth family from Scotland. It appears Emma Rorke grew up near Collingwood, Ontario. Kenneth was the eldest of three siblings, the other two being Hilda and Jack. Charles was a silent partner in the MedAlta pottery company, and Ken was required to go door to door trying to sell the pottery, which he hated, being fairly shy and soft-spoken.

Charles and Emma divorced when Kenneth was a young adult.

Kenneth went to the University of Toronto and became a doctor (a GP). He met his wife (Margaret) Audrey Rogers in Toronto, and they lived in Toronto their entire married life. They had two children, Sharon Margaret Anne in 1940 and Terry (Terrence) Kenneth? in 1944?. Sharon married Christopher Roger Purton in 1961? in Toronto and had Patricia (Tricia) Margaret Purton in 1964. Sharon died in 1966 in Cambridge, England, while Chris was there getting his PhD. Terry married first Martha ?, divorced 1969?, then Jonni ?, divorced 1976?, then Jennifer Shields in 1988. He had no children.

Tricia married Owen Stephenson in Victoria, B.C. on August 14, 1988, and they had Thomas Christopher on March 20, 1996 in Calgary, Alberta.

Thomas married Racquel Fielder on August 1, 2022, in Sylvan Lake, Alberta.
