  3. Source:Learned, William Law. Learned Family, p. 38, does not identify Josiah's wife beyond her name, as found in the marriage record. Only two Katherines seem to be listed in Source:Ward, Andrew Henshaw. Genealogical History of the Rice Family : Descendants of Deacon Edmund Rice. Person:Katherine Rice (3), p. 42, who doesn't match the age at death of Josiah's wife all that well, and whose disposition by Ward, "not in the will", indicates she died before 1772 with no heirs. Person:Katherine Rice (1), p. 43, is not bad age-wise (age at death of Josiah's wife about one year off), but her father died before her marriage so her married name not found in his probate, nor other evidence (i.e., deed selling some of the land she inherited), and the naming of Josiah's children doesn't reflect any influence from her parents or siblings. She is clearly the choice of the Find A Grave memorial, but there is nothing on the gravestone or memorial page to indicate that this is anything more than assumption for the reasons given.
