No explicit birth record has yet been located for Julien. However, a baptismal record was found for Julienne Barras, with the correct parents. That this was meant to record Julien is partially confirmed by the names and birth dates of the children born of the marriage of Julien and Nezilda Keller. Also, Julien's death record, dated 26 Nov 1871, shows his age at death as 41 years, 9 months, which matches almost exactly with the birth date of 9 Feb 1830 given for "Julienne."
