Obituary

Gartenberg Julie Raica Gartenberg, age 65, from Atlantic Highlands, NJ (originally from Westerville, OH), died Friday, January 23, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. She graduated from Westerville High School in 1967, and attended Muskingum College where she graduated cum laude. She worked over the years in a number of professional positions but most recently, she and her beloved late husband Michael Gartenberg, operated a massage practice and products business in Red Bank, NJ. Julie is survived by her mother, Sylvia Raica; her sister, Lauree Raica; and her brother, George Raica. She is pre-deceased by her husband Michael Gartenberg and father Robert A. Raica. Julie worked as a community arts organizer for the past 10 years and served as Atlantic Highlands Arts Council President, as well as Co-Founder and Co-Director of FilmOneFest (the international one-minute film festival). She dearly loved her community, friends, and family and was very grateful for the many wonderful times they shared together. A memorial service is expected to be held in May 2015 in Atlantic Highlands, NJ. Details will be announced at a future date.
