[Note: This record was indexed as Joshua. Besides agreeing with the date given in the Bigelow Family for Jotham, I actually read it as Jotham, though I can see how it could be interpreted as Joshua. The cross of the "t" missed the t and is floating over the m. - jrich.]

"33-104. Jotham Biglow of Holden, Mass., and Guilford, Vt., son of John and Jerusha (Garfield) Biglow, was born in Marlborough, Sept. 1, 1717, and married Persis Temple, daughter of Isaac and Martha (Joslin) Temple, born Dec. 29, 1718, in Marlborough. He early moved to that part of Worcester afterwards Holden, was one of the petitioners for a new town, and with his brother John was admitted to the church, from Worcester, on the formation of a new society in Holden, Dec. 22, 1742, and at the first town meeting was chosen Clerk of the Market. His wife Persis died about 1748. He married second, May 23, 1750, Mary Richardson of Sterling, Mass. Soon after 1761 he moved his family to Guilford, Vt., where he was one of the first settlers in that town, and died April 8, 1786. His will, dated April 5, 1786, mentions wife Hannah (which would appear that he married a third time), daughter Lucretia, wife of Dean Chase, Persis, wife of William Packer, and daughter Mary, sons Jotham, William, Joel and Josiah."
