    18 Lieut. Josiah Littlefield (15), Wells, m. Lydia Masters (Nathl.), and led a life beset by Ind. Gr. j. 1689, 1691, 1695, 1697-8, foreman jury 1701. Constable 1696. With the party when Thos. Cole(31) and w. were k., they escaped uninjured. Manchester, May 1698, perh. visiting; soon in Wells where he was Lieut., orig. member of the ch. 1701, and appar. it was their home until she and a son coming from Boston were k. by Ind. 10 Aug. 1707. … He m. 2d Elizabeth Hilton, was hims. captured in Apr. 1708, spent two yrs. in Canada, writing letters and arranging his release, and ret. in Apr. 1710, only to be k. in Ind. attack, Apr. 1712. Adm. 2 July 1712 to wid. Elizabeth, who m. 2d 18 Oct. 1716 Malachi Edwards(7). See 'N. E.
