  5.   Note: In one of its many errors, Source:Reed, Jacob Whittemore. History of the Reed Family in Europe and America, p. 148, says Joshua, s/o Joshua and Elizabeth, m. Susanna Leathers and later Mrs. Brooks. But, for example, Source:Snow, Nora Emma. Snow-Estes Ancestry, Vol. 1, p. 331, says that Jacob married Susanna Houghton, while on p. 333, that his son Joshua married Susanna Leathers. Lexington records support this, giving the marriage of Mr. Joshua Reed to Susanna Houghton, in Lancaster, in 1753, and a marriage of Joshua Reed Jr. to Susanna Leathers in Lexington in 1780. Further, the marriage to Mrs. [Elisabeth] Brooks in Concord in 1805, conclusively rules out this Joshua.
