UNION VALLEY
Last Wednesday, January 31, Joshua
Perkins died of Brights disease, aged 84
years. He was born at Smithville,
Chenango county, May 3,1810. He was
married twice, first in 1830 to Azubah
Beckwith, and again March 15, 1854 to
Mary Green. He moved to Pitcher, locating
on Pink Hill where he has since
resided. He was a class leader in the
M. E. church at this place, and in his
death the church sustains a serious loss.
A widow and five children survive him.
Elder Hoag officiated at the funeral
held at his late residence, Saturday after
which the remains were taken to North
Pitcher for interment.
