Hi David, About 4 years ago we corresponded with each other about our Macsurak families. Your wife’s grandfather was Jacob Macurak of Pittsburgh. I have some new informaton for you. Below is an email from a friend of mine who has access to records from the church of Niedzica, PL birth place of Macsurak families. I asked her the questions and she responded in red. She works on DNA research in the area of our ancestors birth. I took the MTDNA test (Maternal Match) about 8 months ago. They also have test for father’s side. If you are interested in doing testing I can send you information on it, check out their web page. They are having a sale but it is over tomorrow. They may offer it again. For good testing it cost about $180.00 but it is interesting. It would also be a definitive proof of blood relationship. No guarantee that Joseph was the natural father but most likely... DNA testing would bear this out! I have his parents as Joseph Macurak and Anka Drazek.
