Obituary transcription:
Rites Held Today For Mrs. Josephine Mason
Mrs. Josephine Liddle Mason, aged 80 years and four months, died at her home on West Center street on Monday, Dec. 14. "Aunt Joe" as she was familiarly know, had been ailing for more than a year, yet her closest friends did not realize the seriousness of this illness.

Mrs. Mason was born August 14, 1856, in Dearborn county. She was daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Liddle and was one of nine children, all of whom are now deceased except one sister, Mrs. Carrie Bryant of this city. She was married Oct 13, 1878, to Wiliam (sic) Mason who preceded her to the grave Sept. 13, 1883. Mrs. Mason was a widow 53 years.

She was a member of Hamline Chapel M.E. church for a number of years. She was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand in time of distress. Upon the death of her brother, Thomas Liddle, she took the responsibility of caring for his six children. She gave them all a mother love and affection.

She leaves to mourn her loss one sister, Mrs. Carrie Bryant; three nieces, Mrs. Sadie Macker, Mrs. Carrie Abbott of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mrs. George Gaynorr of Cincinnati, and two nephews Thomas Liddle of Addyston, O. and James Liddle of Lawrenceburg, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Fitch Bros. funeral home Thursday, Dec. 17, with the Rev. H. R. Page officiating. Burial will be in Greendale cemetery.
