From The Plainview Daily Herald, Friday, July 17, 1970 Mrs. Wright, 82, Dies; Rites Set Mrs. Josephine A. Wright, 82, of 1209 Oakland, died at 11:25 a.m. Thursday in a Plainview hospital after an illness of about a month. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Carlos McLeod, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Robert Field, pastor the Halfway Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Halfway Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home. A native of Basin Springs, Texas, Mrs. Wright was born Sept. 29, 1887. She came to Plainview in 1900 from Grayson County. Her husband, S.R. Wright, died in 1950. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Foster James, Plainivew; Mrs. L.E. Dalton, Santa Barbara Calif.; Mrs. Doc Bennett, Itasca; and Mrs. Anthony Latta, Crosbyton; one brother, A.M. Hogue, Ventura, Calif. one sister, Mrs Ella Hooper, Hereford; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
