[Note: There is also a duplicate record for "James Minot" Wright, d. 3 Apr 1778, aged 19 m. 7 d, based on a gravestone. It is clear from the picture that the name has been misread here: it is clearly Jo's, not Ja's, so Joseph, not James. But the dates and age in the duplicate do correctly represent what the stone says, and this raises problems. The numbers on the stone calculates to a birth on 27 Aug 1776. It is not clear whether the dates were as represented on the stone (both VRs incorrect), whether the birth was 1777 (birth in VR wrong) but death in 1779 (death in VR correct), or whether the stone is completely wrong. The History of Westford merely used the town records, seemingly unaware of the discrepancy. All scenarios fit in the family without conflict. It seems an inconceivable coincidence that there might be two separate Joseph's both born on 27 Aug, both died on 3 Apr (the result of taking the various dates at face value), so this would seem to be an error.]
