    "Joseph Atwood b. 1652-3. probably twin of Benjamin; died February 12, 1697-8; m. Jan. 1, 1679-80, Hester or Esther Walker, 1656-1696, dau. James and Elizabeth (Phillips) Walker; m. 2d, Oct. 2, 1697, Abigail Paul (May 15, 1673-Jan. 15, 1743, dau. William and Mary (Richmond) Paul; she m. 2d, by 1704. John Burt. Joseph made his will just before his death, naming children and providing for a child unborn. His probate, 2d marriage, etc. prove his tombstone is in error as to dates, but age, 47, seems correct. Lived at Taunton. Brother-in-law. John Nelson, executor of will. While sons were known as Atwood. Joseph signed some deeds as Wood."
