"Joseph2 (Wise), bapt. (Roxbury) 1 April 1643, certainly living 17 March 1669/70 when he witnessed a deed in Roxbury as Joseph Wise Jr, (Suffolk Deeds 6:195). This record and his baptism are the only known records which name him directly, but on more than one Instance after 17 March 1669/70 his father is referred to as Joseph Wise Senior, the last being the record of his death in 1684, so it Is possible that Joseph Jr. outlived his father, without leaving any further marks of his own."
