Joseph Wheeler the son of Joseph Wheeler & Mary his wife was Borne January ye 12th 1694-5.
[Note: In Source:Jacobus, Donald Lines. History and Genealogy of the Families of Old Fairfield, p. 1:676, says Joseph's birth was 7 Oct. 1682, recorded at Concord. This may have been taken from Source:Orcutt, Samuel. History of the Old Town of Stratford and the City of Bridgeport, Connecticut, p. 2:1344, which has the same date. Not only is this birth not found in Concord Births, it conflicts with the birth of Ruth, which is found on p. 25. Jacobus, however, does say that Joseph, son of Joseph of Stratford dec'd conveyed land to his mother Mary Wheeler in 1716. A birth in 1695 means 1716 is exactly the year he turned 21, and so would have been his first chance to follow the example of his apparently older siblings in doing this, they having done similarly in the years just prior to 1716.]
