  3. Source:Pierce, Frederick Clifton. Peirce Genealogy : Being the Record of the Posterity of John Pers, an Early Inhabitant of Watertown, in New England, Who, p. 44, is confused. He claims Hudson says Joseph's son d. 12 Feb 1737, but the son's will is dated 1750, of Weston, names wife Abigail and children, and was proved 1753. And Hudson, p. 533, actually says the son d. 12 Mar 1753. So the son did not die 1737.
Meanwhile Pierce gives the 1753 death to the father, a conclusion probably based on his widow remarrying in 1754. But the probate shows the death in 1753 belongs to his son. Hudson has no death date assigned to the father (no reference to 1737 in Hudson was noticed, but the latest event mentioned in his biography is his 1736 marriage.) So it seems likely that the father is the one who died in 1737 (there is no corresponding probate).
The only other Joseph Pierce found in Lexington is the grandson, and the grandson m. in 1741, so clearly isn't the person who d. in 1737.
