Elizabeth [(Wight) Heaton] married second between 1648 and 1650 to Joseph Pell, a Boston butcher. Joseph Pell was baptized in Great Hale, Lincs,in October 1658, son of William and Susan (Tipler) Pell, and brother of William Pell, also an immigrant to Boston. Joseph Pell married first in Great Hale, Lincs, 5 November 1619 Elizabeth Taylor, baptized in Great Hale 14 December 1600, daughter of Robert Taylor. He married second in Boston, Lincs., 5 October 1637 Johanna Cocket and emigrated to New England almost immediately, recieving ten acres of land in Lynn in 1638. With his first wife, Joseph Pell had daughters Eleanor, baptized in Great Hale 12 November 1620 and Elizabeth, baptized in Great Hale 7 September 1623. With his second wife, we believe he had a daughter Hannah (or Anna). … We know that Joseph Pell was alive on 29 February 1645/6 [sic] when he … witness[ed] … the unrecorded will of Richard Fitch of Boston. Pell died by 23 April 1650 and widow Elizabeth received the bulk of his small estate after debts were paid.
