91. Joseph H. Kirkpatrick (6) was born on 19 Sep 1775 in York Co., South Carolina. He died on 8 Sep 1849. Joseph H. Kirkpatrick was born 19 September 1775, probably in Y ork Cou nty, South Carolina. Joseph's headstone in Bullock's Creek Cemetery, Y ork County, Carolina bears the initial "H", but no researcher has yet b een able to determine what it stood for. Joseph lived on lands origina lly granted to his grandfather James. Joseph married on 18 Feb 1807, E lizabeth Rainey, daughter of John Rainey, and granddaughter of William R ainey. The latter was born in Ireland and died in Chester County, Sout h Carolina on 29 November 1827. Elizabeth was born 11 April 1788 and d ied 23 September 1851. She is also buried in Bullock's Creek Cemetery. J oseph was born 19 September 1775 and died 8 September 1849 (Headstone). J oseph is listed as living in Chester County, South Carolina in the cens us of 1820. Joseph died intestate and his son, William was appointed a dministrator on 5 Oct 1849.

Five of John and Elizabeth's daughters married Sherers. Four were brot hers and the fifth an uncle of the other four. After four of his daugh ters had been married, it is reported that Joseph remarked, "How many m ore Sherer brothers are in that family? We only have one more daughter ."

Joseph and Elizabeth had a total of ten children, five boys and five gi rls.

At the time of the probating of the will of their third son, William Ra iney (probated 1866 in Chester Co., South Carolina) it was noted that a ll of the children except James Craig Kirkpatrick and Samuel R. Kirkpat rick are residing out of state. Day Jewell states that many decendants o f the two just-named men continued to live in the Chester/York County, S outh Carolina areas, as witnessed by the headstones in the Bullock Cree k's cemetery.

He was married to Elizabeth Rainey (daughter of John Rainey) on 18 Feb 1807. Elizabeth Rainey(6) was born on 11 Apr 1788. She died on 23 Sep 1851. Joseph H. Kirkpatrick and Elizabeth Rainey had the following children:
