    773. Joseph5 Judd, Jr.7 (Hannah4 Bidwell, Sarah3 Welles, Thomas2, Gov. Thomas1, born 1 April 1707 in Farmington, Connecticut (Barbour citing LR 2:111), baptized 13 April 1707 (Farmington Church Records, slip index citing 1:12, 2:126, NEHGR 38:276; and died before 13 October 1789, when his heirs divided his estate. … Joseph Judd was admitted to full communion in the parish of Southington in the southern part of the town of Farmington on 26 July 1741 (Southington Gens. a218).

The heirs of Joseph Judd of Southington reached a distribution agreement on his estate on 13 October 1789. The widow Mary received her dower thirds, that is, one-third of the personal estate forever and one-third of the real estate for her use during her natural life. Hannah Upson, Ruth Hart, Lucy Plant, Phebe Neal, and Martha Barnes received land. Signing the agreement were Mary Judd, Elnathan Judd, James and Lucy Plant, John and Phebe Neal, and Nathan and Martha Barns, all of Southington. Hannah Upson signed later in New Haven. Elnathan and Ruth Hart signed much later, on 9 March 1790 in Farmington. On 11 August 1796, the heirs divided the widow's dower interest in the real estate of Joseph Judd. By this time, Martha Barns lived in Bristol, Ruth Hart in Farmington, and Hannah Upson in Wallingford (Farmington Probate District, Connecticut Estate Files, docket no. 1649)."
