"White Creek" has included JOSEPH HIPPENSTEEL on his postings of WeRelate pages, because this large family links the David Frank LOWER family to the Daniel Lower (1792-1876) family. It is interesting that there seems to be no other descent line, besides John (born 1774). Other than this one single son of Joseph, all the other Hippensteel lines seem to have many persons. Why not Joseph's line?

It seems the Hippensteel descendants moved all over the country. Their first area of concentration seems to have been CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pennsylvania. The Hippensteels are also linked to many WABASH COUNTY, Indiana families. "White Creek" has 63 people with the Hippensteel surname in his Legacy Program.

Like Joseph, the David Frank Lower (born 1831) line was from Pennsylvania. Do they connect to the large group of "Hirstein Lowers" also? Many of these Hippensteels moved to Chester Township, Wabash County, Indiana, where we think Daniel Lower (1792-1876) ended his days.
