Of the eight children of Rev. Joseph and Elizabeth3 (Gerrish) Green, Joseph, the third, who was born 12 Dec. 1703, was a well-known merchant of Boston and owned a valuable estate on Hanover Street, which he purchased in 1734 for £3600 from Gov. Jonathan Belcher. His portrait was painted by Copley.
