Informaiton on Joseph Collins
- Joseph Collins was in Essex County., Virginia 1718, and lived on Post Tobago Road, Drysdale Parish, King and Queen County, Virginia in 1730. They moved to Spotsyvania County, Virginia, and also had land in Orange County, Virginia. [Source: "The Collins Book" by Richard A. Prewitt, 1996].
- Joseph Collins died in King and Queen County Virginia on (prob. prior to) May 3, 1748. Ordered that summons be issued for William Collins of Essex and George Collins of King and Queen to cause them to appear at the next court for this county to declare wether or not they will execute the last will and testament of Joseph Collins, dec'd May 3, 1748. - Joseph Collins was living in Essex Co., Virginis in 1718 and 1720, as was his brother, William. Joseph married Catherine Robertson, daughter of John, indicated by land transfers from Robinson (alsospelled Robertson at times) giving land to his grandchildren: Joseph, Thomas, and William Collins. Joseph died in 1748. It was ordered that summons be issued for William of Essex Co. and George Collins of King and Queen Co., Virginia to cause them to appear at the next courtheld in Essex County to declare whether or not they will execute the last will and testament of Joseph Collins, deceased May 3, 1748.
