8 Dec 1749: Petition of "Dorothy Butterfield Widdow of Joseph Butterfield Late of Wes[t]ford Deceased ... my Husband ... a very small estate Leaving but three Acres of Land and that Unimproved with but a small Quantity of moveables he Left me also with five small Children ... my Eldest son Eleazer is Now become of age ... be settled on him ... resign my right of Dower to him and the Rest of my Chidren ... I Desire my son Eleazer may take Administration ..."
8 Dec 1749: Petition of "Dorathy Butterfeild Widow was wife to Joseph Butterfield late of Westford Decesed he leaving your Pettition with three akers of land and five childeren the Elder is elezer Butterfield being above twenty one years old hannah Butterfild being about twenty years old Martha Butterfield being about 18 years old Joseph Butterfield being about 16 years old Ebenezer Butterfeild being about 13 years old and dorathy Butterfield being about 10 years old...prayeth that you wold be plesed to grant that Liuftenant Jabeze Keep of s'd Westford be guardian for Ebenezer Butterfield and Dorathy Butterfield..."
