According to Joseph Bodfish in "A Genealogist's Letter-Book" Ebenezer died young, about 30, unmarried. The other eleven children all lived to old age, [besides Ebenezer, Joseph, Elizabeth and Rebecca all predeceased their father] were married and had families of children.

The house of the first Joseph Bodfish stood on the farm since owned by Lemur Bursley where his barn stands. The farm is now owned by Lemuel's son Osmon Bursley.

Joseph Bodfish's sons all lived in West Barnstable except John, who lived in Sandwich. Jonathan Bodfish's farm when he died contained 6 hundred acres. He lived in the old house which his father bought until nine years before he (Jonathan) died. when it was taken down and a new one erected on the same place.

The letter was dated 3 Feb 1862

    Will of "Joseph Bodfish of the Town and County of Barnstable being aged and Infirm", dated 20 Aug 1735, codicil 25 Oct 1744, proved 9 Apr 1745, names son John; son Joseph Deceased his son hereafter mentioned; son Benjamin; son Robert homestead reserving one end to daughter Hannah Thomas and her children; son Ebenezer; "four sons viz: Benjamin Nathan Ebenezer and Robert togeather with Joseph Bodfish the Son of my son Joseph Deceased"; my three Daughters Hannah Melatiah & Sarah; children of my Daughter Rebecca deceased; children of my Daughter Elisabith deceased; four children of my Daughter Mary Swift. Codicil mentions Son Ebenezer has since deceased; grand son Ebenezer Thomas. Son John to be executor.
