SEVERY, Jonathan, s. Joseph Jr. and Susanna, [born] Feb. 16, 1753-4.
[Note: 1753 started in January and no double dating is needed. So this date is meaningless and should either say 1753 or 1754. The town copy p. 181 records this exactly as "1753/4", but we don't know if this is what the original says. Source:Savary, A. W. Genealogical and Biographical Record of the Savery Families (Savory and Savary) and of the Severy Family (Severit, Savery, Savory and, p. 183, interprets the intent as 1754, presumably assuming if somebody wrote this out of habit, that would be their meaning. We cannot rule out that the town clerk making the copy adding the double-dating and the town copy is organized by family so offers no chronological clues. Jonathan's age is recorded as 63 when he died in 1810 [born about 1747] which appears incorrect and certainly cannot be trusted to resolve this issue.]
