GATES, Jonathan, s. Thomas and Lydia, [born] Feb. 9, 1791.
GATES, Jonathan, s. Tho[ma]s and Lydia, bp. Feb. 19. [17]97. CR
[Note: There is no intervening death date sot these appear to apply to the same person. Feb. 18 was a Sunday in 1797 but not in 1791 so it looks like the year of baptism is correct. However, a birth in 1791 would conflict with Hannah's 5 months later. In the original records, Jonathan's birth runs off the edge (here, p. 93) and while the year looks like 1791, he is the last birth in his family group, which otherwise appears to be in chronological order. His birth is even after Mary's in 1796, suggesting the birth was originally 1797, like the baptism, before the edge of the page became worn. This is further supported by the town copy, which explicitly lists the year as 1797 (here, p. 39).]
