In a report dated May 1, 1743, a lot was 'set off to "Jonathan Bliss' heirs," he must have died not long previously. ... and died about 1740.'

The assumption that he died about 1740 may have been due to the fact that this author thought that his widow married Jonathan Kilborn in 1740. However, she could not have been Jonathan Kilborn's second wife, since he and his second wife had children after 1740.
