Jonathan [sic] Stone son of Samuel Stone and Abigaill his wife was born December ye 3 : 1710. [There is no comment regarding the name mixup in Source:Bartlett, J. Gardner. Gregory Stone Genealogy. The will of Samuel Stone mentions a son Jonas, no son Jonathan. The marriage of Jonas in 1731 means he could not have been born much later than 1710 and given his parents marriage in 1706 and his position as the third child, it seems almost certain Bartlett is right in assuming this birth belongs to Jonas. We could speculate that the records says Jonas, the s was missed due to being a small curl at the end, and the "Jona" was interpreted as Jonathan, but if so, the published record should have included the "than" of Jonathan in brackets, so it appears to be an error in the record??]
