    Dr Alex Woods' father, John Woods, was named after his father, and was born in the Turkey Hill Settlement, near Belleville, March 14 1813. Married Catherine Carr on Jan 5, 1833 and began farming on Prarie Du Long, but removed to Belleville in 1851. He became wealthy and died May 19, 1875, at the age of 62 years, a member of the Baptist church.
