"May 8. [John, son] of John Woodbury [by his wife Elizabeth Tenney] baptized 8. 3. 1681."
↑Source:Tingley, Raymon Meyers. Some Ancestral Lines, p. 456, calls this child Peter. Some sources even show both, though there is no actual evidence there were two children. Rather, there is an ambiguous name, since the town record appears to have none, and the church record had the name filled in by the transcriber, for reasons unknown. The assumption of a name Peter is presumably based on the 1689 will of the grandmother, Elizabeth (Hunter) Woodbury [Essex Probate Vol. 302, p.194 ] leaves a small legacy to "my two Grandchildren Peter the Son of Jn'o Woodbury and to Peter the Son W'm Woodbry ... they bare the name of my Son Peter y't was killed", showing that John had a son Peter. No further record of this child is found. The father did have son named John later with his second wife.
