    -17 May 1774 John Whitford, of Exeter, yeoman, & Martha his wife for love to my son John Whitford Jr., 100 acres of my homestead farm bounded: highway, Mrs. Serrens, George Vaughan.
    Witnesses: George Peirce, Amos Whitford. [Exeter Land pps. 332-333]
  3.   Sarah Mory wife of Joseph Mory of Exeter, yeoman, (principle) and John Whitford Jr of Exeter, yeoman, (surety) £500 to be paid to Joseph Mory by the above 2 dated 29 Jan 1777. Joseph Mory and his wife Sarah have agreed to part. Sarah shall keep children under age with her. Sarah agreeing to consult her father (who?) about binding them or putting them out (to trades). Mary (Sarah) gives up all right of 1/3 to her husband Joseph.
