Suffolk, England, died Mar. 24, 1706 'aged about 86', daughter of Martin & Rachel (_____) Saunders. Widow Leah Wheatly m. Robert Parmenter Apr. 13, 1648. … John Whetly or John Wheatley was made freeman of the colony May 10, 1643 and died about 1646 leaving a child Rachel who is mentioned in the settlement of the estate of Martin Saunders Sr. in Oct. 1658. … It is quite probable that he was closely related to Dorothy Wheatley, dau. of John, who married in 1614 in England Thomas Bliss who came to Braintree in 1640 from Daventry, Northamptonshire. … He was one of the Braintree residents who petitioned the General Court in 1645 for a new plantation."
