Will of "John Wheat of Lincoln" dated 19 Feb 1779, proved 9 Mar 1785, names "Abigail Wheat, my now married wife", sons Benjamin, Joseph [sole executor]; daughters Sarah Allen, Betty Semple, Lucy Underwood, Hannah Wheat, Mary Semple. Mary and Betty's bequest only six shillings because they had "gone from this state an enemy to the country" [their husbands were Tories].
