"John¹ Umfreville (John^A, Gervase^B) was baptized at Ewell, county Surrey, on 11 July 1630 and died at New Haven, Connecticut, after 20 September 1720. He probably married about 1660. His wife's name has not been discovered, although she is known to have lived in New Haven. In 1674, John Umfreville came to America, apparently with his wife, daughter Mary and son Samuel; he settled in the West Haven area of New Haven, Connecticut."
