Came with his parents to Adair County, Ky. where he married Martha McFarland 27 July, 1809. She was born 1791 in Greene County, Tenn. to Benjamin and Ruth Jack McFarland. He bought land in Adair County on Greasy Creek, Russell County was taken from Adair County and his land then lay in Russell County. 7 children were born to them in Adair County and the last one in Russell County. Soon after 1850, John and Martha with their family moved to Putnam County, Mo. Martha died about 1860. John was in Sullivan County in 1870 where he married Rosell Moore and they had 2 children Henry and Rosa, no record of them. John was dead by 1880.
