John THRASHER died 1790. SOURCE NOTES: John received two land grants from King George III one in 1738 and the other in 1745. The total amount was 788 acres in Goochland Co.(now Albemarle Co.) in Virginia. This land is located a few miles from Amherst, VA. John married Ruth CLOUD.
They had a son John THRASHER JR., born 1755, died 1844. SOURCE NOTES: During the Revolutionary War John lived in Rockingham county, North Carolina. After serving in the war, he moved to Oconee Co., Georgia. Married 16 Apr 1758, Virginia, Susan BARTON, born 1766, died 1837, daughter of David BARTON and Ruth OLDHAM."The marriage date for John and Susan is probably incorrect. He would have been three years old, and Susan would have been minus eight. The birth of Isaac in 1794 also testifies to the probablility of error in the marriage date."
