    "Sturges, John. Born abt. 1624, d. at Fairfield in 1700; m. Deborah Barlow, dau. of John, who called her Deborah Sturges in his will 1674. He had a legacy in will of Daniel Finch 1667. Testified Nov. 1686, aged 62.

    Will 4 Mar. 1697/8; sons Jonathan, Joseph, John; dau. Deborah Redfield, to whom he gave, a negro boy; gr. son Christopher Sturges; son-in-law Richard Stratton and his five children by dau. Sarah; dau. Abigail wife of Simon Couch, to whom he gave a negro boy; son Thomas, not known to be living, if he return home. [Not recorded; from Files.]"
