Court Record, Page 53—1st December, 1747: This Court grant Adms. on the estate of John Stephenson, late of Middletown, unto Susannah Stephenson, widow, who gave bonds with John Savage of Middletown of £1000.
Page 80—6 December, 1748: Whereas, Susannah Stephenson, who was appointed Adms. on the estate of John Stephenson, late of Middletown decd., on the 1st day of December, 1747, and being deceased and not having finished her account of Adms., this Court grant Adms. on the estate of the sd. John Stephenson unto John Savage of Middletown, who gave bonds with George Ranney of £1000.
Page 84—3 January, 1748-9: An account of Adms. on the estate of John Stephenson was now exhibited by John Savage, Adms.: Paid in debts and charges, £106-05-05. Account allowed and ordered to be kept on file. The Adms. now moves to this Court that the moveable estate may be distributed as follows:

Page 87—3 January, 1748-9: This Court appoint John Savage of Middletown to be guardian to Robert Stephenson, a minor, 12 years of age, and Thomas, 9 years, sons of John Stephenson. Recog., £200 for each minor. This Court appoint Gershom Goodrich guardian to Susannah Stephenson, 6 years of age, daughter of John Stephenson. Recog., £500.
Page 26 (Vol. XVI) 4 June, 1751 : This Court appoint John Cornwell of Middletown to be a guardian to Mary Stephenson, a minor, aged 5 years, daughter of John Stephenson. Recog., £500. Robert Stephenson, a minor, 15 years of age, son of John Stephenson, chose his uncle John Savage to be his guardian. Recog., £1000 money.
Page 58—7 April, 1752: John Savage, guardian to Robert and Thomas Stephenson, minors, shows to this Court that there is one piece of land in sd. Middletown, on the east side of the river, that lies in joynt tenancy with other children of the deceased and their uncle James Stephenson, and desires suitable persons may be appointed to assist sd. guardian: Whereupon this Court appoint Joseph Frary, Joseph White and Jeremiah Goodrich distributors."
