Was soldier under Captain Lathrop. He was the only man to come out whole from Bloody Brook Massacre. Served under Capt. Samuel Mosely in March 1676, and probably continued through the French and Indian War. Lived on Lot J5 in Deerfield. His home was burned and his entire family captured Feb 19, 1704. Only John, his wife, and son, John were only known survivors of his family to come back.

Dorothy Alexander, sis. of Robert, wh. to her and brs. and sis. div. his est. had John, and Abigail, of whose b. the date is not found; Samuel, b. 1688; Thankful, 1691; Ebenezer, 1694; and Joseph, 1699. He suffer. from the French and Ind. when they destroy. D. 29 Feb. 1704, when his w. and the six ch. were car. away to Canada, whence exc. f. mo. and s. John they came not back. He died 20 yrs. aft. the captiv. in his will, give all his est. to John, but ea. of the five Canada should have in a share, if he came to live in N. E."
