"Aaron Spalding served fron January, 1776, to July 6, 1783, as a private soldier in Capt. John Allen Thomas' Company, Col. Smallwood's Regiment, Maryland Militia. He was engaged in the Battles of Long Island, White Plains, Monmouth, Brandywine, Germantown, Gates' Defeat, Camden, Guilford C. H., Eutaw Springs, and Cowpens. Aug. 10, 1819 he applied for a pension, with residence given as Washington Co., KY., and age of 67 years."
