The evidence in Christine Gees book and the Strong Family History leads me to believe John South who was killed in Estills Defeat is the father of John and Zedekiah South.

Information from Shari Sitz at sjsitz@@ev1.net says John South was married 7 Jan 1710/1711 in Middlesex County, Virginia to Mary Elizabeth Smith b. 20 Mar 1695/96. She also says George South was born about 1665 Westmoreland County, VA married to Ann Sanford b. about 1669 Westmoreland County are the parents of John. Sources unknown.
