On 11 Jan 1657/58, Quartermaster John Smith is referred to as "John Smith Senior" suggesting the presence of another John Smith "who was at least in his late teens". [This would suggest born by, say, 1640. But Anderson also speculates that Samuel b. Jan 1658/9 was this John's son, which which imply a marriage in 1658, so birth by 1637, so it seems like he was probably a full-fledged adult at the time of the above reference. Also note that Anderson cites Rev. Thomas Prince, and notes the lack of evidence, to conclude that it is unlikely this John Smith was related to Quartermaster John Smith.]
