    "D 5. John2 Shepard (Daniel1), born at Portsmouth. R.I., 4 Feb. 1694/5, died at Dartmouth, Mass. (between 5 Nov. and 5 Dec.) 1759; married first, at Sandwich, Mass., 4 Jan. 1719/20. Dorcas Wing, born at Sandwich 6 Dec. 1695, daughter of Daniel and Deborah (Dillingham) Wing; married second, a[t] Swansea, Mass., 24 July 1751, Ruth Witten (or Whiten) of Swansea. She married second (intention, Dartmouth, 17 Sept. 1760) Benjamin Gifford of Sandwich. On 12 Feb. 1753, John Shepherd of Dartmouth, yeoman, deeded to his son David part of land he had bought of Thomas Hathaway. [Bristol County Land.] His will, dated 5 Nov. 1759, proved 5 Dec. 1759, named his wife; sons John, Abner, and David; daughters Deborah, Jemima, and Lydia; grandchildren Patience and Brice, children of deceased son Brice Shephard. [Bristol County Probate.]"
