JOHN migrated to America in 1852, with his family, and his future son-in-law, Valentine M. Mattern. John (otherwise known as "George") was born in "Bavaria", which really means the Palatinate. Valentine Mattern was born in Schmidtweiler in 1832. Another Palatine family (which have WeRelate.org pages) was the Schwarz (without a "t") Family from Bisterschied. Bisterschied is about 1.5 miles south of WALDGREHWEILER. The John Schwartz Family probably hails from Schmidtweiler, which is another village, just about two miles northwest of Waldgrehweiler.

John (otherwise known as "George") is probably buried in Huntington County, Indiana. In his "tree" are the surnames of: Mattern, Lanzer, Wenzel, Fleck, Yentes, and Karns.

John's descendent, Loren Valentine Karns, Jr., was a correspondent of "White Creek", prior to 1972 when he was tragically killed in an automobile accident, after a high school football game. Loren was the high school principal.

John also had a descendant, Bertha (Wenzel) Conrad, who was a contact of "White Creek". She grew up in the David LAUER household.
