  7. While a page-by-page search of the Ripley County 1830 census did not reveal a John Rogers, county records show he was married in Ripley County in 1825 and bible records indicate his oldest son was born there just before 1830. The household of John Roberts (a phonetically similar surname) is a very likely candidate for the missing John W Rogers. It contained Males: 2 <5, 2 10<15, 1 20<30; Females; 2 15<10, 1 20<30. The ages of the oldest male and female are consistent with John W Rogers and Elizabeth Watson ages in 1830 and the two youngest males, both under age 5, are consistent with their two sons born in 1827 and 1828. The teen agers could be siblings.
  8. The 40 acres were bought by a John P Rogers from the land office in Jeffersonville. (Misindexed as John B. Rogers)
