John Riemersma, 63, Spring Lake, died Saturday afternoon in Municipal Hospital where he had been taken three weeks. earlier. He had been ill for seven months. He was born in Ottawa, County July 23, 1892 and he married the former Jennie DeMeester in Grand Rapids Jan. 23, 1918. They lived in Marne for 12 years, then in Middleville for 12 years before moving to Spring Lake in 1940. He was employed as a machinist at Burnside Manufacturing Co. He was a veteran of World War I, having served in France. Surviving are the wife; three daughters, Mrs. Charles Whitwam and Mrs. Edward Klukos of Spring Lake and Mrs. Edward George Schuitema of Grand Haven; three sons, Paul of Jemson, John of Holland and James of Spring Lake; two brothers, David Riemersma of Coopersville and Edward of Marne: four sisters, Mrs. Harry Rodenhouse of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Sidney Posthumus of Coopersville, Mrs. Tom Koning of Marne and Mrs. Percy Roberts of Allendale, also 16 grandchildren.
