Cutter presents a detailed (for him) argument that the John Richardson of Wells, Maine, who moved to Medfield apparently for security during King Philip's War, first appearing in 1676, was a son of the John Richardson who was granted land in Watertown in 1636, but possibly being an Antinomian, was probably the same John Richardson who was in Exeter in 1642, having followed Wheelwright there, and later probably settled in Wells where Wheelwright became pastor. He estimates the birth of the son "about 1645 or 1650", d. Medfield 29 May 1697, inventory dated 22 Feb 1699, admin. granted to widow 18 Jul 1700, m. 1 May 1678 Rebecca Clark, d/o Joseph and Alice Clark: 7 children.
